RICHTIG ist Antwort b “kaufen die Leute Geschenke ein.”    

Die Art der Verbs: Das Verb “einkaufen” ist ein trennbares Verb. Das bedeutet, dass die Vorsilbe “ein” alleine und seperat am Ende des Satzes steht.

Die Position des Verbs: Verben stehen in Hauptsätzen IMMER auf Position 2. Das MUSS so sein. Hier steht auf Position 1 nicht das Subjekt “die Leute”, sondern die Temporalangabe “an Weihnachten”. Trotzdem muss das Verb “kaufen” auf Position 2 stehen und auf Position 3 folgt dann das Subjekt.

“kaufen… ein” sind also eine Klammer mit “kaufen” auf Position 2 und die Vorsilbe “ein” ganz am Ende.

Der Satz bedeutet: Weihnachten IST im Jahr 2020 AN einem Donnerstag.

Die Grammatik zu diesem Thema heißt “Verben mit präpositionalem Kasus”. Manche Verben haben eine Präposition bei sich. Diese Verben haben mit dieser Präposition oft eine andere Bedeutung, als ohne diese Präposition. So ist es auch hier. Weihnachten “fällt auf” einen Donnerstag, bedeutet, dass Weihnachten an einem Donnerstag ist.  Mit “fallen” hat das nichts zu tun. Man muss diese Verben lernen und auch ihre spezielle Bedeutung.

ACHTUNG: Wenn “fallen auf” “sein an / am” bedeutet, MUSS es IMMER ein temporaler Kontext sein. zB.: “Mein Geburtstag fällt auf einen Feiertag.” “Unser Hochzeitstag fällt auf den Geburtstag unseres Sohnes.” usw.
